Kalaimamani Meera Sivaramakrishnan

Senior Carnatic Violin
A child prodigy with music coursing through her veins, Meera Sivaramakrishnan has had a very glorious career spanning more than three decades that has revealed her mastery over the bow.

Unlike many ‘Star’ children who are not able to live up to the standards set up by their illustrious parents, Meera, receiving rigorous training under her mother Kalaimamani Radha Narayanan (herself a student of the legendary Padma Shri, Sangeetha Kalanidhi  Shri Dwaram Venkatasami Naidu) showed herself to be the proverbial lion cub, forging ahead in leaps and bounds.

Her concert career began at the tender age of nine. Since then, there was no looking back. With complete control over the bow, mind boggling imagination and mastery over the rhythmic aspects. Meera was able to adapt herself to any style of playing.

The young Meera was soon much sought after as an accomplished accompanist. Concerts came thick and fast. To date, Meera has had the opportunity of accompanying great stalwarts like  Padma Bhushan Sangitha Kalanidhi MLV, Padma Bhushan  Flute Mali, Padma Shri Madurai Somu, Padma Shri ,Sangitha Kalanidhi N.Ramani, Padma Shri  Sangitha Kalanidhi Sikkil Sisters, Padma Shri Kadri Gopalnath, Padma Shri U.Srinivas,  Sangitha Kalanidhi D.K.Jayaraman, Padma Bhushan T.V.Gopalakrishnan, Sangitha Kalanidhi Bombay Sisters, Padma Vibhushan, Sangitha Kalanidhi Dr.M.Balamurali Krishna, Padma Shri,  Sangitha Kalanidhi Mani Krishnaswamy,  Padma Shri , Sangitha Kalanidhi Smt. Sudha Raghunathan and  Neyveli Santhanagopalan amongst others.
An ‘A’ Grade artiste of All India Radio, Chennai, she has been giving performances regularly on the radio and television channels as well as the prestigious ‘Akaash Vani Sangeet Sammelans’, National Programmes, Isai Charal etc’.

The rich experience gained by her coupled with her innate musical instincts led Meera to foray into the realms of solo performances in India and abroad, as well as on the radio and television, winning accolades everywhere.
