The Vijayadashami Festival
Vijayadashami is an important Hindu festival and is also known as Dussehra in many parts of India. This auspicious Hindu festival is celebrated every year after Navaratri with great pompous and fervor. Vijayadashami falls in the months of September and October every year.
Vijayadashami is celebrated for different reasons throughout Indian. In many Indian states, it indicates the end of Durga Puja and commemorates the victory and triumph over the demon Mahishasura by goddess Durga. In other Indian states, it is celebrated as Dussehra and denotes the end of "Ramlila" bringing to mind God Rama's victory over Ravan.
Vijayadashami in its simplest form is celebrating the victory of Dharma (good) over Adharma (evil).
